Artisan Analytix is seeking a Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Consultant to support a large public-sector IT services program. This mid-level to senior individual-contributor role will help strengthen how disaster recovery is planned, tested, coordinated, and reported across business stakeholders and technology service providers.
We are looking for a practitioner who combines effective DR fundamentals with practical modernization: clearer recovery workflows, less manual status collection, useful automation, and dashboards that show what has recovered, what remains, and where attention is needed. Working knowledge of cloud recovery is important; deep cloud architecture expertise is not required.
DR planning and business alignment. Assess current recovery capabilities and maintain DR plans, runbooks, dependency maps, contacts, and readiness records. Work with business and technical owners to validate business impact inputs, service priorities, recovery time objectives (RTOs), recovery point objectives (RPOs), and recovery acceptance criteria.
Exercises and recovery coordination. Plan and facilitate tabletop exercises, technical recovery tests, and failover/failback activities with authorized delivery teams. Coordinate roles, schedules, escalation paths, and dependencies; track actual outcomes against recovery objectives and support recovery events when engaged.
Dashboards and progress visibility. Design, build, or enhance dashboards that track recovery milestones, completed and remaining steps, blockers, ownership, elapsed time, and application validation. Define evidence-based progress measures so a status such as “50% complete” reflects agreed recovery milestones—not an unsupported estimate of time remaining or service restoration.
Automation and process improvement. Reduce manual status collection through approved reporting tools, workflows, data feeds, or integrations. Deliver practical improvements directly where feasible and partner with technical specialists on more complex integrations. Document data sources, refresh timing, and ongoing support needs.
Cloud and hybrid recovery. Work with infrastructure, application, security, and cloud teams to assess dependencies and recovery approaches across on-premises and cloud services. Apply working knowledge of backup and restore, replication, regional recovery, and shared responsibilities; identify gaps and recommend practical, cost-conscious improvements.
Stakeholder coordination and continuous improvement. Consolidate supplier and service-owner updates, communicate risks and decisions needed, document lessons learned, and track corrective actions to closure. Keep recovery records current as services change and support adherence to applicable client policies and governance.
Success means current and usable recovery plans; well‑coordinated exercises with documented results; trustworthy visibility into recovery progress; fewer manual reporting steps; and a prioritized improvement backlog with accountable owners. This is a delivery‑focused role with no direct reports, working within established program decision‑making and change‑control processes.
This is an independent contractor 1099 engagement with Artisan Analytix, not a W‑2 employee position. Work location, expected hours, engagement duration, and any onsite, travel, or after‑hours participation will be confirmed during screening. Candidates must satisfy applicable client onboarding and system‑access requirements.
