Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Disaster Recovery Analyst in Maryland Heights, MO for hybrid on-site work. The role involves designing and implementing DR strategies, leading testing, and coordinating with IT, infrastructure, and operations to ensure resilience.

Responsibilities include BIA, risk analyses, documentation, and training across business and technical teams. Applicants should have IT disaster recovery or business continuity experience, strong communication, and knowledge of IT

• Serve as SME for DR proof of concept and technology initiatives.
• Advise on DR solution design and efficiency improvements.
• Lead meetings for design, problem solving, and task execution.
• Contribute to evaluation, selection, and maintenance of IT systems for DR investments.
• Plan and manage projects related to IT systems selection, development, and installation.
• Analyze critical functions and define disaster scenario scope and impact.
• Produce standardized documentation per policies and procedures.
• Lead BC/DR training and awareness across stakeholders.

Our client seeks Disaster Recovery Analysts to design and implement contingency plans and recovery strategies that protect critical business data and information systems from natural or human-made events impacting operations. The role sits within IT Disaster Recovery and will support merger-related initiatives. The analyst will plan and execute DR testing, conduct business impact analyses, identify gaps using a risk management framework, and partner with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to close gaps. The role will advise on DR solution design, lead meetings, and support evaluation and implementation of IT systems to ensure resilience. It will also drive documentation standardization, training, and awareness across business and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and plan testing activities for IT business resumption plans, including on-site testing at disaster recovery sites.
• Conduct business impact analyses on applications and business functions.
• Identify and analyze gaps in current DR plans using a risk management framework.
• Build relationships across infrastructure, application, and operations teams to reduce DR gaps.
• Perform risk analysis to identify vulnerabilities, recommend avoidance and reduction strategies, and address critical points of failure.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in proof of concept and proof of technology initiatives for disaster recovery.
• Advise architecture and IT teams on efficiencies when designing DR solutions.
• Facilitate meetings for technical design, problem solving, and task implementation.
• Contribute to evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems for appropriate investment.
• Plan, lead, organize, and control projects related to selection, acquisition, development, and installation of IT systems.
• Analyze critical functions and define the scope and impact of disaster scenarios.
• Produce, create, and report on standardized documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Lead teams in the development, documentation, and coordination of tactical BC/DR plans and resources for crisis situations.
• Lead business continuity and disaster recovery training and awareness efforts.
• Analyze technical and business requirements that drive critical business and ecosystem functions.
• Identify business continuity scenarios and contingencies and advise on BC/DR plans.
• Act as a DR liaison to technical resources and business partners for new application onboarding and strategy changes.
