Linn County in Iowa seeks an executive IT leader to guide the County’s Information Technology Department and drive technology use across all departments. You will plan, secure, and modernize the technology environment, aligning investments with the Strategic Plan while ensuring services are reliable and cost-effective.

You will oversee governance, security programs, budget, vendor management, and project delivery, while building a capable IT team and reporting to the County Board and committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in information technology, computer science, or other related field.
• Over six (6) years of experience that includes two years in a supervisory or management position.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills for this position may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Develops and carries out the IT strategic roadmap aligned with the County’s Strategic Plan.
• Provides strategic oversight of information security including policies, risk assessments, and incident response.
• Plans and directs operation, maintenance, and support of all information services and systems; ensures reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develops and manages the department’s budget; evaluates and approves technology expenditures.
• Directs vendor/contractor oversight; monitors SLAs and deliverables.
• Establishes project management practices; communicates status to stakeholders.
• Supervises IT staff and fosters a collaborative, service-oriented culture.
• Represents the County on technology matters and coordinates with external partners.
