Job summary

Caz Recovery in Buffalo, NY seeks a Director of Information Technology to oversee the agency’s IT infrastructure, systems, security and compliance while supervising IT staff. This hands-on leadership role combines technical responsibilities with staff oversight, project coordination, cybersecurity oversight, and long-term planning to meet HIPAA/HITECH compliance.

The position reports to the CFO and collaborates with program staff and external organizations to ensure effective use of technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, cybersecurity or related field preferred.
• An Associate’s degree, relevant technical certifications, or equivalent experience will be considered.
• Minimum of five (5) years progressive IT experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Professional certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA Security+, Network+).
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365 administration, virtualization, firewall and security appliances.
• Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or non-profit settings preferred.
• Valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises IT staff and ensures timely, effective resolution of IT issues.
• Oversees IT infrastructure including servers, networks, desktops, laptops and cloud platforms.
• Implements and maintains security, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity systems.
• Leads IT projects with minimal operational disruption.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, HITECH and other regulations.
• Develops IT policies with CFO focus on compliance and cost control.
• Provides cybersecurity risk management and incident response oversight.
• Coordinates vendor relationships and IT contract management.
• Offers training and communication to program staff on technology use.
• Performs hands-on technical administration and troubleshooting as needed.
• Monitors system performance and recommends improvements.
• Manages user provisioning, access, onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Maintains technology inventory and lifecycle planning.
• Coordinates IT response to cybersecurity incidents and outages.
• Participates in strategic planning and budget development for IT.
