Job summary

Ivy Tech is seeking an IT Director to lead the IT Operations team, delivering high-quality services across the organization from the Terre Haute campus with support for Greencastle. You will participate in budgeting, capital planning, and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring projects meet goals and align with policy and standards.

The role emphasizes customer service excellence, strategic leadership of IT staff, and responsibility for project plans, SLAs, and statewide IT objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field.
• Three to five years’ supervisory experience supporting IT environments, including team management, hardware asset management, budget management, configuration management, and software distribution.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and strong leadership skills.
• Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills with technical and team management.
• Proven ability to lead a diverse team and implement programs to enhance staff skills and growth.
• Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives with deadlines and accountability.
• Demonstrated discretion with confidential data and local admin access for support.
• Ability to analyze complex IT issues within governance and compliance.
• Experience with change management and process re-engineering.
• Willingness to travel; higher education experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IT operations and service delivery across the campus community.
• Provide technical consulting and coordinate with IT support staff to improve service delivery.
• Collaborate with campus leadership and act as liaison to OIT.
• Uphold a culture of customer service excellence across IT functions.
• Direct change control processes and ensure compliance with college-wide protocols.
• Manage hardware and software assets following statewide policies.
• Recruit, lead, and develop IT support staff and manage budgets.
• Lead statewide and campus projects using best-practice project management methods.
• Provide day-to-day IT leadership in alignment with statewide objectives.
• Ensure SLAs are met through disciplined ticket and incident review.
