Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana seeks an IT Director to lead a technical team delivering high-quality IT services across the organization. The role requires a strong customer service orientation and active participation in budgeting, capital planning, and quality improvement initiatives.

The IT Director will ensure projects align with college-wide policies and standards. The position is 100% onsite on the Terre Haute main campus, with travel to a Greencastle site as needed, and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field.
• Three to five years’ supervisory experience supporting IT environments, including management of a team, hardware asset management, budget management, configuration management, and software distribution.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and strong leadership skills.
• Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills and demonstrated initiative and organizational abilities.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team of professionals, developing and implementing effective programs to continuously enhance staff skills.
• Must be willing to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IT operations and service delivery aligned with organizational goals.
• Provide expert technical consultation on technology services; collaborate with IT staff to enhance service delivery.
• Collaborate with campus leadership as primary liaison between campus leadership and OIT.
• Foster a culture of customer service excellence across IT functions.
• Direct and enforce IT change control processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Administer hardware and software asset management per statewide policies.
• Recruit, lead, and develop IT staff; manage performance and accountability.
• Participate in IT budgeting and oversee expenditures.
• Lead statewide and campus-level IT projects to timely completion.
• Provide day-to-day operational leadership alongside Executive Director of IT Operations.
