Vision IT | Contingent Upon Contract Award

Location: Idaho Branch Office (IBO) - Naval Reactors Facility, Idaho

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Four 10-hour days per week

Estimated Level of Effort: Approximately 2,080 hours during the period of performance

Clearance: DOE L / Secret equivalent; ability to obtain and maintain required DOE clearance

Candidates selected for consideration must be willing and available to provide a Letter of Commitment to Vision IT for inclusion in the contract proposal submission.

The Letter of Commitment will demonstrate the candidate's intent and availability to support Vision IT in the event the contract is awarded. Submission of a Letter of Commitment does not constitute an employment offer and does not guarantee employment, start date, or contract award.

Final employment is contingent upon contract award, funding, government approval, successful completion of applicable onboarding requirements, and the candidate meeting all security and position requirements.

Position Overview

Vision IT is seeking an experienced IT Coordinator to support a potential contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Naval Reactors Laboratory Field Office (NRLFO) Mission Support Division at the Idaho Branch Office (IBO), located at the Naval Reactors Facility (NRF). This position is contingent upon contract award. The IT Coordinator will provide on-site IT coordination, technical support, project coordination, and customer service to NRLFO personnel. This position serves as a key interface between NRLFO employees, Naval Reactors IT organizations, site personnel, and supporting technical teams.

The successful candidate will combine hands-on IT support with project coordination, asset and software management, telecommunications support, issue resolution, documentation, and process improvement.

This position requires an organized, customer-focused, technically capable professional who can manage multiple priorities while operating in a security-conscious and mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Coordination
  • Provide day-to-day IT support to NRLFO personnel and coordinate specialized technical support with site IT organizations.
  • Respond to general IT questions and troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and user issues.
  • Coordinate and track resolution of technical issues through appropriate IT support channels.
  • Execute IT activities associated with employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain an accurate knowledgebase of NRLFO hardware, software, and technology resources.
  • Support equipment refreshes, installations, configurations, deliveries, asset tracking, and related documentation.
  • Assist with software approvals, installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing support.
  • Coordinate connectivity and configuration issues involving non-enterprise systems.
  • Arrange or provide training for specialized hardware and software.
  • Monitor open NRLFO IT tickets and assist with prioritization, tracking, escalation, and resolution within established service-level agreements.
  • Identify recurring IT issues and trends and recommend solutions to improve employee productivity and customer satisfaction.
IT Projects & Process Improvement
  • Coordinate IT support for project-oriented requests, initiatives, and technology enhancements.
  • Develop and implement solutions to streamline NRLFO IT processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation, and process improvements.
  • Support software application development and technology-enhancement initiatives as required.
  • Track IT projects, tasks, priorities, milestones, deadlines, risks, and completion status.
  • Coordinate with NRLFO IT personnel and supporting site organizations to ensure requirements are clearly understood and completed.
  • Assist with requirements gathering, implementation planning, testing, and deployment of IT solutions.
  • Provide recommendations to management regarding technology, processes, and user-support improvements.
Telecommunications & Collaboration Technology
  • Coordinate scheduling, installation, troubleshooting, configuration, and support for telecommunications services.
  • Support voice technologies, including telephones, voicemail, audio conferencing, and mobile devices.
  • Support data connectivity and related services.
  • Support video and collaboration technologies, including videoconferencing systems, webcams, and related equipment.
  • Coordinate telecommunications requirements for new and transferred employees.
  • Work with appropriate technical organizations to resolve voice, data, and video issues.
Documentation & Administration
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for IT tasks, projects, installations, equipment, software, and support activities.
  • Maintain project and task tracking documentation reflecting priorities, progress, deadlines, risks, and completion.
  • Provide weekly status briefings to NRLFO IT management.
  • Track and report IT issues, resolution times, outstanding work, risks, and mitigation activities.
  • Develop, maintain, review, and update IT policies, procedures, SOPs, knowledgebase content, and end-user documentation.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable cybersecurity, physical security, information protection, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate effectively with NRLFO, Naval Reactors IT, site personnel, and supporting technical organizations.
  • Ensure IT-related documentation is accurate, current, properly maintained, and readily available for operational and audit purposes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or four years of relevant IT experience.
  • Demonstrated project management or IT project coordination experience.
  • Microsoft certification or demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications, including:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong customer-service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively coordinate with multiple organizations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required DOE Facility Clearance and access.
  • Willingness and ability to provide a Letter of Commitment to Vision IT for contract proposal submission.

  • Experience developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, SOPs, and processes.
  • Experience with IT asset management and technology refresh programs.
  • Experience supporting telecommunications, videoconferencing, or collaboration technologies.
  • Experience supporting federal, defense, DOE/NNSA, national security, nuclear, or other highly regulated environments.
Work Schedule

This position is expected to be full-time, four 10-hour days per week, for an estimated 2,080 hours during the period of performance.

Work schedules and hours are subject to final contract requirements, site operating procedures, and government approval.

Work Environment

The IT Coordinator will work on-site at the Idaho Branch Office (IBO), Naval Reactors Facility (NRF), Idaho.

The position operates in a mission-critical environment where reliability, responsiveness, security, professionalism, documentation, and adherence to established procedures are essential.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working with government personnel, technical teams, contractors, and end users while maintaining strict compliance with applicable cybersecurity, physical security, safety, and information-protection requirements.

Security Clearance Requirements

This position supports a sensitive national-security mission.

All personnel performing work under the contract must be able to obtain a DOE Facility Clearance. DOE L access is required for this position.

Applicable Department of Defense clearance reciprocity may be considered while DOE clearance adjudication is underway, subject to government requirements and approval.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required clearance and comply with all applicable federal, DOE, NNSA, and site-specific security requirements.
