Job summary

Lander University seeks a dedicated IT Support professional to deliver hands-on hardware and software assistance to faculty, staff, and campus users. You will help manage and secure computing resources, document processes, and provide clear troubleshooting guidance.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or higher in IT, strong customer service skills, and familiarity with Windows/Mac/mobile OS. Knowledge of Banner is a plus and physical requirements include lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with current Windows, Apple Macintosh and mobile operating systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with hardware and software troubleshooting and event mitigation.
  • Understanding of standards‑based support environment.
  • Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds, climb ladders and use power tools.
  • Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to support and assist a diverse customer base. Strong attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving abilities, with experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software and classroom technology. Working knowledge of operating systems, applications and technology used in customer‑facing environments. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with customers, colleagues and leadership. Understanding of information security and data protection standards. Experience with Banner and/or working in a higher education environment is preferred.
