City of Garland is seeking an Emergency Vehicle Technician to install, maintain, and repair electronic systems in City vehicles, including warning lights, sirens, GPS, radios, and video systems.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6 months of related experience, EVT certification within 6 months of hire (or ability to obtain), and knowledge of basic DC circuits. The job involves lifting up to 50 pounds and working in a shop environment.
Responsible for the installation and maintenance of all electronic and specialty equipment that is installed in City vehicles, to include warning lights, sirens, GPS, computer docking stations, 2-way radio's, mobile video systems, vehicle radars, vehicle wireless modems, back-up cameras, D/C to A/C inverters, and assisting with the annual 2-way radio preventative maintenance program.
