Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies (Workers Compensation Division) seeks an IT Business Systems Analyst 2 to bridge IT and business units, translating needs into actionable tech solutions. You’ll work with product owners, DevOps, and stakeholders to design scalable systems and lead testing efforts.

You will collaborate on data reporting, continuous improvement, and post-launch support, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective end-user training within a Walnut Creek, CA setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
• Experience with low code platforms, SQL, and data visualization tools preferred.
• Experience with microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern cloud-native apps.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins, or containerization.
• Certifications: CSPO, PSPO, or SAFe.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business needs with stakeholders to define requirements.
• Design solutions with architects and developers ensuring scalability.
• Develop functional specs, system design, and workflow diagrams.
• Support project planning, scope, and resource estimation.
• Lead UAT and QA coordination to ensure quality deliverables.
• Create reports and dashboards with BI teams for decision making.
• Communicate effectively between IT and business units; train end users.
• Ensure SOX, PCI-DSS and other compliance requirements are addressed.
