Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is seeking a Business Analyst II for a full-time position within the Information Technology Business Engagement (ITBE) team in Austin. This role supports IT requests, governance, documentation, reporting, and process improvement across agency initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in business analysis, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, SharePoint, and related applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, MIS, CIS, CS or equivalent; experience may substitute.
• At least three years in business systems analysis.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with SDLC and PM lifecycle knowledge.
• Familiarity with SACWIS or case management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process IT service requests.
• Develop reports to track IT requests and funding alignment.
• Conduct impact analysis on legislation for IT systems.
• Coordinate change management and stakeholder communications.
• Prepare presentations for senior management.
