Job summary

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is modernizing its child welfare information system. The Business Analyst III (FIAR) role supports the CMTP, analyzes current processes, designs future-state solutions, and ensures alignment with program goals and CCWIS requirements.

The position requires collaboration with program staff, IT teams, and vendors, with travel up to 25% and telework eligibility within a hybrid arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience for substitution.
• Strong communication across stakeholder audiences including non-technical and executive levels.
• Experience in business process redesign and IT-enabled transformation.

Responsibilities

• Participate as an active CMTP project team member through project end (FY 2032).
• Analyze current child welfare processes and support future-state design.
• Provide SME input to requirements, solution design, and system reviews.
• Review project docs, vendor deliverables, and solution concepts for alignment with DFPS goals.
• Collaborate with program staff, IT, and vendors to support readiness activities.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and operational impacts of modernization.
