Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to analyze and improve processes and systems across multiple business domains. You will translate business requirements into actionable designs for the development team, manage backlogs, and ensure proper documentation and traceability throughout the SDLC.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, participate in Agile ceremonies, and help ensure high-quality deliverables, including interfaces and tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent education and experience
• 4 years of working experience in an Information Technology environment as a Business Analyst
• Proficient with system/application design and end user support
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to develop and document requirements and specifications
• Ability to communicate in both technical and user-friendly language
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work as a team player
• Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivated
• Ability to mentor others

Responsibilities

• Develop requirements for process or system solutions spanning multiple domains by partnering with stakeholders and documenting details for the dev team
• Break down partner stories into backlog items and ensure understanding of each requirement
• Maintain business process documentation and traceability
• Ensure all required documentation is complete and stored properly
• Collaborate with other analysts and scrum teams for consistency
• Provide functional design specifications for new development and major enhancements
• Work with designers to create interfaces that satisfy business requirements
• collaborate with testing to develop functional test cases and automated scripts
• Provide acceptance criteria and facilitate user acceptance testing
• Review and remediate defects from regression and load testing
• Document and track defects from testing
• Participate in customer demos for complete application requirements
• Verify production changes with impacted units
• Understand supported business areas and analyze problems to propose improvements
• Maintain IT relationships to ensure compliance with SDLC and promotion processes
• Create training documentation with OD Technology Training team
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to hiring decisions
• Mentor less experienced Business Analysts
