Job summary

The JERA Global Markets Group (JERAGM) is building its North American gas trading team in Houston and seeks a Business Analyst to configure, implement, and support the ETRM platform and related tools.

You will gather requirements, train end users, and bridge IT with commercial, risk, and finance to optimize trading workflows across the US market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years delivering/supporting ETRM solutions in a global environment.
• Front and middle office experience and end-user training.
• Strong understanding of energy trading process.
• Experience with multiple ETRM platforms is a plus.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements with users and track updates.
• Act as the business analyst for power and natural gas trading lifecycle.
• Support front, middle, and back-office processes and define roles.
• Use ETRM platforms for Commercial, Risk, Finance, Accounting.
• Analyze ETRM reporting to ensure solutions meet expectations.

• Translate business problems into potential projects and deliver solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PositionDescription :

This role forms part of JERA's growing North American Gas Trading business, which is expected to transition onto JERAGM’s trading platform. This business is wholly owned by JERA Co., Inc. and will focus on US natural gas trading,optimisationand market development across North America. Successful candidates will join during the build-out phase ahead of the business's planned operational launch.

The Business Analystis responsible forconfiguring, implementing, and supporting the ETRM platform from EKA Solutions,and other supporting software used in the energy trading process such asEnverus,Plexos,cQuant, and IntercontinentalExchange(ICE).Thispositionprovidesexpertiseinthefulltransaction lifecycle from pre-trade through settlement and invoicing.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Work with the business users to gather and document business requirements and track updates and changes toinsuretheyare meetingthe businessusers' requirements.
• Act as the business analyst with regards to:
• Power andnatural gas trading
• Trading lifecyclefront, middleandback-officeprocesses,rolesandresponsibilities
• Use of an ETRM platform by all parties - Commercial, Risk, Finance, Accounting
• AnalyzeETRM reporting results to ensure solutions are functioningproperlyand results are consistent with expectations.
• Function as a liaison between IT and third-party solutions and the business to ensure that current delivery and future requirementsare meetingthe business needs.
• Assistin the development of test cases and work with users to perform user acceptance testing of solutions.
• Ability toanalyzebusiness problems into a potential project including understanding the business problem and developing a plan to deliver a solution.
• Becoming thesubject matter expertfor the ETRM processes within JERA to train and support new and existing users of the ETRM and other support systems, and troubleshoot user issues
• Note that in addition to thesedutiesemployeesare required tocarry out such other duties as may bereasonably required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics,Mathematicsor related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience delivering/ supporting ETRM solutions in a global environment with a focus on Power and Natural Gas trading life cycle. (Such as EKA,Endur, Allegro, Right Angle, etc.) including business analyst functions
• Front and middle office experience andexperiencetraining end users
• Strong understanding ofthe energy trading process.
• Experience with multiple ETRM platformswould be an advantage.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under time pressure
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and communicate those to the IT and application development teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) and able to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and various levels within the organization
