Job summary

SkyWest Airlines is seeking an IT Business Analyst to design, develop, and implement software applications that streamline our operational processes while keeping us on time. You will partner with business users and software engineers to propose solutions and help shape user interfaces for an in-house application.

The role involves documenting requirements, presenting solutions for approval, and supporting development, testing, and UAT.

Primary Job Duties

The IT Business Analyst plays a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of software applications to improve the business processes at SkyWest. Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Job shadow business partners to identify and document existing business processes
• Work with business partners and software engineers to come up with software solutions
• Design user interface for a custom in-house application
• Document requirements for software engineers
• Present software solutions for business partner approval
• Assist software engineers during development and integration testing
• Work with business partners during user acceptance testing, manual writing, and implementation as needed

Minimum Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver's license
• Pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
• Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Visio
• Understanding of business process documentation methods
• Come up with software solutions to assist business processes
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Present to business partners, vendors, and technical staff
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
• Multi-task and work under time pressures and project deadlines
• Aviation experience preferred

• Sitting at a computer for extended periods
• This is not a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position.
