Job summary

Highmark Health is offering a Summer 2027 Undergraduate IT Audit Internship designed to provide hands-on experience across IT audit, cybersecurity, data privacy, risk management and governance for Highmark Health and its subsidiaries.

Interns will support IT assurance efforts, participate in advisory engagements, and gain exposure to HIPAA compliance, regulatory requirements, and security controls while working with the Internal Audit team to strengthen organizational risk management.

Qualifications

• Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with colleagues, clientele, and other stakeholders in planning assignments and resolving day-to-day operational issues.
• Under supervision, provide entry-level professional services as appropriate to day-to-day operating objectives; receive guidance and mentoring.
• Undertake and/or participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise for the organization.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise and ability.
• As requested by management, conduct research and reporting including recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
• Undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the operating unit.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
