Job summary

Highmark Health in Providence, RI invites students to join the Summer 2027 Undergraduate IT Audit Internship. This program exposes interns to IT audit, cybersecurity, data privacy, risk management, and governance across Highmark Health and subsidiaries.

You will work with IT Audit, Information Security, Privacy, and Risk teams to assess controls, learn audit methodologies, and contribute to projects that strengthen data protection and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day audit support and participate in IT assurance engagements.
• Assist with evaluating technology and security risks and documenting results.
• Contribute to recommendations for process improvements and risk mitigation.
• Support system implementation reviews, project management controls, and audit methodologies.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy requirements in highly regulated environments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization on audit projects.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
