Job summary

Smarty, LLC is seeking a part-time IT Associate to join our Utah team. You will ensure that all equipment and systems run smoothly during normal business hours (9am–5pm) with a schedule of 20–25 hours per week, completed onsite in Orem.

You’ll configure, troubleshoot, and manage devices, licenses, and network gear while supporting colleagues and learning SOC2 considerations. Our culture emphasizes teamwork, hands-on learning, and a friendly, energetic environment.

Qualifications

• Completed coursework related to Bachelor’s degree in IT or similar field.
• Experience delivering technical customer service preferred.
• Part-time role: 20-25 hours per week, onsite 9am–5pm.
• Experience with Linux Shell scripting and SOC2 awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting services, problem solving, and training to Smarty team members.
• Research, procure, manage, configure, and support employee equipment (laptops, phones, monitors, peripherals, printers, desks, chairs).
• Procure and allocate software licenses and subscriptions; track and disperse company assets.
• Configure and update network equipment, including routers, switches, and access points.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a part-time IT Associate to join our team. This role will deliver exceptional standards of service, ensuring that all of our equipment and systems are functioning at peak performance and secured against any malicious intent. This requires complex problem-solving partnered with persistent learning and teaching. Knowledge of security at large dinosaur containment facilities is not required. If you’re excited by the dynamic challenges of configuring equipment, managing facilities, or reminding us to turn it off and turn it on again, we want to hear from you.

What you’ll do for us

Responsibilities:

• Have fun! Enjoy the interactions with your peers and coworkers
• Provide Smarty team members with general troubleshooting services, problem solving, and training
• Research, procure, manage, configure, and support employee equipment, including laptops, phones, monitors, peripherals, printers, desks, chairs, etc.
• Procure and allocate software licenses and subscriptions
• Track, manage, and disperse company assets
• Configure and update network equipment, including routers, switches, cables, wireless access points, and firmware
• Configure and manage the Smarty phone system
• Ensure that Smarty assets are safe and secure, performing regular audits while installing and managing physical devices
• Develop protocols and assist with creation of policies and procedures to meet the needs of an evolving business landscape
• Manage Smarty facilities to maintain performance standards, including HVAC, elevator, furniture, installations, etc.
• Complete special projects, from remodels and rebuilds to workstation optimization

What you need to get the job done

Requirements:

• Completed coursework related to Bachelor’s degree in IT or similar field
• Experience delivering technical customer service preferred
• This role is part-time, 20-25 hours per week, completed onsite within normal business hours of 9am to 5pm
• Willingness to learn and help others
• Strong communication skills necessary to work with all levels of Smarty
• Detail-oriented and meticulous in problem solving
• Experience working with Linux Shell scripting
• Aware of System & Organization Controls Reporting (SOC2)
