Job summary

Smarty is hiring an IT Associate to join our onsite team in Orem, UT. You will ensure equipment and systems run at peak performance and implement security measures. This role requires problem solving and collaboration to keep Smarty running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting services, problem solving, and training to Smarty team members.
• Research, procure, manage, configure, and support employee equipment (laptops, phones, monitors, etc.).
• Procure and allocate software licenses and subscriptions.
• Track, manage, and disperse company assets.
• Configure and update network equipment (routers, switches, cables, wireless APs, firmware).
• Configure and manage the Smarty phone system.
• Ensure assets are safe, secure, and audited regularly.
• Develop protocols and assist with policies and procedures for evolving business needs.
• Manage Smarty facilities to maintain performance standards (HVAC, elevator, furniture, etc.).
• Complete special projects from remodels to workstation optimization.
• Engage in face‑to‑face coordination to align IT activities with goals.

We have an immediate opportunity for a full-time IT Associate to join our team. This role will deliver exceptional standards of service, ensuring that all of our equipment and systems are functioning at peak performance and secured against any malicious intent. This requires complex problem‑solving partnered with persistent learning and teaching. This is an onsite, non-remote opening in Orem, UT.

What you'll do

• Provide Smarty team members with general troubleshooting services, problem solving, and training
• Research, procure, manage, configure, and support employee equipment, including laptops, phones, monitors, peripherals, printers, desks, chairs, etc.
• Procure and allocate software licenses and subscriptions
• Track, manage, and disperse company assets
• Configure and update network equipment, including routers, switches, cables, wireless access points, and firmware
• Configure and manage the Smarty phone system
• Ensure that Smarty assets are safe and secure, performing regular audits while installing and managing physical devices
• Develop protocols and assist with creating policies and procedures to meet the needs of an evolving business landscape
• Manage Smarty facilities to maintain performance standards, including HVAC, elevator, furniture, installations, etc.
• Complete special projects, from remodels and rebuilds to workstation optimization
• Engage primarily in face‑to‑face and in‑person coordination of work with other team members to align IT‑specific activities with organizational objectives

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience delivering technical customer service preferred
• Willingness to learn and help others
• Strong communication skills necessary to work with all levels of Smarty
• Detail‑oriented and meticulous in problem solving
• Experience working with Linux Shell scripting
• Aware of System and Organization Controls Reporting (SOC2)

• Compensation range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000; compensation grows with experience and role level
