Job summary

State of Montana Department of Administration in Helena seeks an ITAM Program Specialist to design, document, and mature asset lifecycle practices across hardware and software within the SITSD. The role blends hands-on technical work with strategic coordination to ensure asset data accuracy and policy compliance.

You will partner with IT leadership to support onboarding/offboarding, audits, and reporting, translating complex workflows into repeatable processes and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Business or related field is required.
• One year of enterprise-level business analysis or project management experience.
• Knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management.
• Ability to learn HAM/SAM tools like ServiceNow quickly.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills; clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets using HAM/SAM tools.
• Ensure real-time inventory accuracy and data quality.
• Develop policies and help shape ITAM governance.
• Collaborate with partners to align ITAM strategy with business goals.
• Support onboarding via workstation setup and imaging.
• Manage secure offboarding and asset recovery.
• Deliver metrics and insights to IT leadership to guide decisions.
• Maintain ITAM process documentation and drive continuous improvement.
