Job summary

Alchemy in New York seeks a hands-on IT leader to build and run business systems, owning enterprise applications, integrations, and the IT team. You’ll drive AI-enabled workflows, automate processes, and ensure reliable day-to-day service.

You’ll coach engineers, set priorities, manage vendor relationships, and partner with cross-functional teams to redesign how work happens with AI across the company.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience administering enterprise SaaS apps and building integrations.
• Experience managing technical staff including coaching, prioritization, hiring, and performance management.
• Ability to build and debug with APIs, scripting, and workflow platforms (n8n, Okta Workflows).
• Evidence of shipping AI-enabled workflows used by others; explain delegation to AI and verification.

Responsibilities

• Own business applications and integrations; manage Salesforce and connected tools; partner with business owners on configuration and data quality.
• Build across systems: API integrations, scripts, workflows; responsible for testing, monitoring, and documentation.
• Redesign work around AI; deliver agents and automations; validate results and escalate exceptions.
• Manage the IT team: set priorities, provide feedback, hire, and ensure service coverage.
• Raise AI capability; collaborate with engineers to turn successful approaches into shared tools and runbooks.
• Maintain reliable IT service: onboarding/offboarding, escalations, and PS—service desk, identity, endpoints, office tech.
• Ensure safe automation: least privilege, data handling, audits, explicit approvals, rollback options.
• Own application roadmap and spend; evaluate tools; measure reliability and impact.
