Job summary

The City of Rapid City seeks an IT Analyst to support its technology infrastructure by analyzing, implementing, and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems across departments.

The role provides technical support, troubleshoots issues, and collaborates with staff to ensure secure, reliable operations. IT Analyst I or II levels involve hands-on maintenance, AD/ERP setups, on-call support, and project work under supervision.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, system, and network issues.
• Maintain technical documentation and service catalog for installations and configurations.
• Provide guidance for technical training and document step-by-step procedures.
• Set up new users in enterprise systems including Active Directory and ERP.
• Provide on-call support.
• Maintain servers and server OS per maintenance schedule.
• Execute projects with supervision from senior analysts.
• Maintain documentation for assigned areas of the environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware, software, system and network issues.
• Maintain docs and service catalog for installations and configurations.
• Document procedures for technical training and onboarding.
• Set up new user accounts in AD and ERP systems.
• Provide on-call technical support.
• Perform server/OS maintenance as scheduled.
• Lead or contribute to projects under supervision.
• Keep environment documentation current and accessible.
