Nebraska DHHS is seeking a detail-oriented IT Analyst I to join the Children and Family Services (CFS) Data and Analytics team. In this role, you’ll help manage and improve data systems that support Nebraska’s child welfare programs. You’ll design, maintain, and analyze databases, build dashboards that inform decision-making, and ensure accurate state and federal reporting. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and contributing to better outcomes for children and families across Nebraska.

Associate Degree in Computer Science/IT and one year experience in a related area such as working with coding computer applications relational databases related business/technical experience involving application programming, software installation and maintenance, systems programming and online programming work. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field. Strong technical skills in SQL, Power BI, and Excel. Familiarity with Snowflake, DBX, or similar data warehouse environments. Experience designing dashboards and reporting solutions for leadership decision-making. Familiarity with child welfare or human services data systems. Knowledge of statistical analysis tools such as R or Python.
Not an out-of-state remote position. Must be located in or can relocate to Nebraska.
Knowledge of relational database concepts, data integration, and reporting tools; principles of data quality, validation, and compliance reporting; and best practices for designing dashboards and visualizations. Skills in SQL programming, database design, and data troubleshooting; building visual reports and dashboards in Power BI/Excel; and communicating technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to analyze problems logically and identify IT solutions; manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; and work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
