Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical is seeking an IT Administrator to join our IT department and support a nationwide workforce of technical professionals. The role focuses on Level 2/3 technical support in a Microsoft-centric environment, with emphasis on proactive communication and collaboration across departments.

You will work within a hybrid model supporting both in-office and remote staff across the United States, while partnering with senior engineers and vendors to resolve complex issues and

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3–5 years in desktop support, systems administration or technical support.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 cloud environment required.
• Knowledge of Entra ID, M365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune and Teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 and L3 technical support for systems, apps and user issues.
• Respond to service requests across business areas with urgency and consistency.
• Troubleshoot using documentation and best practices; escalate when needed.
• Coordinate with MSPs and vendors; assist in OS patching and software packaging.
• Support endpoint hardware and assist in laptop/IT accessory setups.
• Ensure Microsoft environment configuration; contribute to knowledge base.
• Participate in projects, system improvements, and after-hours deployments.
• Travel to other SMC offices as required (<5%).
