RSM US LLP in Houston seeks a Tax Controversy/Practice and Procedure professional to advise clients and engage teams on IRS procedural matters. You will support examinations, appeals, and private letter ruling requests within a national tax controversy practice.

The role emphasizes strong writing, research skills, client service, and collaborative project work across the firm’s tax teams. A CPA or EA is preferred; hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within deadlines.
• Ability to communicate clearly with firm personnel and clients.

Responsabilités

• Assists senior professionals with IRS examinations, IRS appeals matters.
• Research technical issues specific to IRS practice and procedural issues.
• Prepare written communications to the IRS regarding penalty abatement requests.
• Working on IRS account issues, corrections and reconciliations.
• Assists senior professionals with preparation of Private Letter Ruling Requests.
• Participate in firm trainings.
