RSM US LLP in the United States is seeking a Tax Controversy/IRS Practice professional within the Washington National Tax group. You will assist senior professionals on IRS examinations, appeals, and private letter ruling matters, collaborating across the firm.

Responsibilities include researching IRS issues, preparing penalty abatement communications, and handling account corrections and reconciliations. A Bachelor's in Accounting and CPA or Enrolled Agent status are preferred qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within deadlines and in accordance with firm and client standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic or written means.
• Effective project management skills, including ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and quality in a fast paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Assists senior professionals with IRS examinations, IRS appeals matters
• Research technical issues specific to IRS practice and procedural issues including tax, penalty and interest assessments, statutes of limitations for refunds and assessments, missed elections, and IRS examination and IRS appeals matters
• Prepare written communications to the IRS regarding penalty abatement requests
• Working on the IRS account issues, corrections and reconciliations
• Assists senior professionals with preparation of Private Letter Ruling Requests
• Participate in firm trainings
