Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Tax Controversy/Practice and Procedure professional within the Washington National Tax (WNT) office to advise clients and internal teams on complex tax controversy issues. The role involves assisting with IRS examinations and appeals, preparing communications to the IRS, and participating in firm trainings.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, excellent communication, and strong research and writing abilities, with CPA or Enrolled

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to meet client service, quality and performance expectations within deadlines and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assists senior professionals with IRS examinations, IRS appeals matters.
• Research technical issues specific to IRS practice and procedural issues including tax, penalty and interest assessments, and IRS examinations and appeals.
• Prepare written communications to the IRS regarding penalty abatement requests.
• Working on IRS account issues, corrections and reconciliations.
• Assists senior professionals with preparation of Private Letter Ruling Requests.
• Participate in firm trainings.
