Job summary

RSM US LLP in the United States is seeking a Tax Senior Associate in Tax Controversy to join the Washington National Tax team. The role focuses on IRS practice and procedure, conducting research, preparing communications, and supporting client engagements.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, strong communication, and CPA/EA is preferred. A hybrid work arrangement is offered with opportunities for professional growth within a leading firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assists senior professionals with IRS examinations, IRS appeals matters.
• Research technical issues specific to IRS practice and procedural issues including tax, penalty and interest assessments, statutes of limitation for refunds and assessments, missed elections, and IRS examination and IRS appeals matters.
• Prepare written communications to the IRS regarding penalty abatement requests.
• Working on the IRS account issues, corrections and reconciliations.
• Assists senior professionals with preparation of Private Letter Ruling Requests.
• Participate in firm trainings.
