Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Resource Planning Lead to guide Integrated Resource Plans and related studies for a multi-state portfolio. You will oversee complex modeling, coordinate across teams, and align planning with regulatory frameworks and corporate goals.

You will manage load forecasting, technology cost analyses, and market rule evaluations, collaborating with regulatory services, environmental planning, and finance to inform major investment decisions in a dynamic energy

Qualifications

• Education in an analytical field as a baseline.
• Alternative path: non-analytical degree plus 2+ years of analytical experience.
• 3+ years in resource planning or equivalent roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of IRPs and related studies across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams of analysts, SMEs, and partners.
• Translate modeling results into recommendations for senior leadership.
• Prepare regulatory filings and expert testimony.
• Support regulatory proceedings and stakeholder engagement.
