Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking an experienced foreman to direct crews in steel erection tasks at construction sites. You will plan work, set up hoisting equipment, and guide teams to position structural members safely and efficiently.

You will read steel drawings, manage timelines, and perform basic welding as needed. The role emphasizes strict adherence to safety rules and quality standards on demanding projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience directing a construction crew.
• Familiarity with hoisting operations and basic rigging.
• Ability to read shop drawings and interpret layouts.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs a crew's work and timelines on task completion.
• Sets up hoisting equipment and positions structural-steel members with basic rigging knowledge.
• Signals operator of hoisting equipment to lift and place members.
• Guides members into position using tag lines.
• Feeds, positions, and secures materials during installation.
• Verifies alignment and bolt hole alignment using plumb bob and level.
• Cuts and welds steel members as needed with oxyacetylene equipment.
• Loads, transports, unloads tools and materials; maintains tools.
• Observes safety rules and project requirements; performs maintenance on tools.
