Hatch is seeking an Iron & Steel Specialist to join the Metals team in Pittsburgh. You will lead iron and steelmaking projects from concept through detailed engineering, providing process expertise across furnaces, BP processes, and related plant systems.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to advance decarbonization, energy efficiency, and modernization studies, including hydrogen-based options. Travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
• Experience in ironmaking/steelmaking process engineering or consulting is essential.
• Strong communication and ability to translate complex topics for clients.

Responsabilités

• Lead iron and steelmaking projects from concept through detailed engineering.
• Provide process and technology expertise across plant systems including furnaces and metallurgy.
• Review design criteria, mass/energy balances, and equipment specs.
• Support decarbonization and modernization studies, including hydrogen-based options.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective designs.
• Engage with clients and participate in workshops and proposals.
• Contribute to commissioning, ramp-up, and operational improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers within the Metals team.
