Job summary

The American Red Cross in Burlington, VT seeks a Technologist III to perform donor and patient testing, interpret results, and support transfusion services. The role requires MT(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) certification and a minimum of four years of related experience.

You will manage specimen logistics, reagent inventory, and equipment maintenance, with opportunities for leadership and training. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with weekend on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or Chemistry with MT(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
• Licensure if required by state.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
• Leadership skills and ability to work on a team.

Responsibilities

• Consult and communicate with staff at other medical facilities to resolve complex serologic problems and provide special units to transfusion recipients.
• Manage receipt, coordination, shipment and transport of patient and donor blood samples.
• Assist in daily workflow of patient and donor work and document supply and equipment problems.
• Maintain, edit and review computer and manual records for accurate record keeping; perform maintenance and validation of equipment and software.
