Job summary

Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures under supervision, and provide technical support for interventional radiology exams. Responsibilities include patient assessment, equipment operation, room preparation, and maintaining supplies and medications.

Role requires 2–5 years X-ray experience (IR preferred), ARRT (R) certification, BLS, and state license if required.

• Education: Required - Graduate of accredited Imaging Program
• Preferred: Associate degree
• Experience: Required - 2-5 years of X-ray experience; Preferred - 1-3 years IR experience
• Certification: ARRT (R); VI or CI preferred, AHA BLS, state license if required

Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus

Under minimal supervision, the IR Tech performs basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Provide technical support for interventional radiographic examinations. This includes assessing patient condition, operating imaging equipment, preparing examination rooms, and maintaining equipment, supplies, and medications. Perform radiographic exams on all patients, as necessary. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Produces high quality diagnostic radiographs, rotates through advanced areas of diagnostic radiology to include OR, Urography, open reductions, myelography, arthrography, placements, and trauma; assists practitioner with fluoroscopy, arthrography, OR procedures and trauma.

Qualifications

Education:

• Required: Graduate of accredited Imaging Program
• Preferred: Associate degree

Experience:

• Required: 2-5 years of X-ray experience
  Preferred: 1-3 years IR experience.

Certification:

• Required: ARRT (R); VI or CI preferred, AHA BLS, state license if required

MI Only:

• Required: AHA BLS, state license if required
• Preferred: VI or CI
