Job summary

Valley Baptist Health System – Harlingen seeks an IR Tech to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures under supervision, and provide technical support for interventional radiology exams. You will assess patient condition, operate imaging equipment, and prepare rooms and supplies.

Required: ARRT (R); AHA BLS; state license if required. Preferred: 2–5 years X-ray experience and 1–3 years IR exposure. Sign-on bonus may be available. Team-focused environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited imaging program is required.
• Associate degree is preferred.
• 2-5 years of X-ray experience is required.
• 1-3 years of interventional radiology exposure is preferred.
• ARRT (R) certification is required; VI or CI preferred; AHA BLS and state license if required.

Responsibilities

• Produces high quality diagnostic radiographs, rotates through advanced areas of diagnostic radiology to include OR, Urography, open reductions, myelography, arthrography, placements, and trauma; assists practitioner with fluoroscopy, arthrography, OR procedures and trauma.

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, the IR Tech performs basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Provide technical support for interventional radiographic examinations. This includes assessing patient condition, operating imaging equipment, preparing examination rooms, and maintaining equipment, supplies, and medications. Perform radiographic exams on all patients, as necessary. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
