Job summary

HiredFirst is seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Rad Tech for a contract role in New York. The incumbent will perform IR imaging, assist the radiologist, and ensure high-quality images while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.

The position requires a minimum of 2 years IR experience, NYS Tech license or ability to obtain before start, and BLS certification. VIR certification is preferred per facility, with on-call and callback responsibilities as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Interventional Radiology experience.
• NYS Tech license or ability to obtain prior to start (required).
• BLS (AHA only).
• VIR Certification (required/preferred per facility).
• On-call and callback availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform IR imaging and assist radiologist during procedures.
• Prepare and position patients for exams.
• Operate radiologic equipment and ensure image quality.
• Document accurately in HIS/RIS/PACS systems.
• Support room turnover and team workflow.
• Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and equipment functionality.

Interventional Radiology (IR) Rad Tech (Contract)

Schedule

8-hour Day Shift (e.g., 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

5x8s (Monday-Friday)

On-call: 5-7 shifts per 7-week block (2-4 weekend call shifts)

Callback and holidays as needed

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years Interventional Radiology experience
• Licensure: NYS Tech license or ability to obtain prior to start (required)
• Certifications: BLS (AHA only)
• Certifications: VIR Certification (required/preferred per facility)
• Additional: Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills
• Must meet on-call and callback requirements
