Vascular Xray Technologist Lead
Responsibilities
- Produce images of desired quality by selecting proper technique factors and ensuring proper calibration and warming up of equipment.
- Apply immobilization devices and demonstrate borders on all images, using collimation devices to eliminate excessive radiation.
- Understand and apply radiation protection to eliminate excessive radiation to patients and personnel.
- Assist in the delivery of care: arm syringe and injector for contrast media administration, identify injector malfunctions, and act in life‑threatening situations.
- Transport patients to the table and assist with any equipment or procedures not routinely taught.
- Assist, evaluate, and train students and support personnel to ensure proper care and film quality.
- Document procedures in the case event log, ensuring a complete record of supplies utilized and proper film identification per department policy.
- Maintain all hospital equipment: inspect, clean, secure equipment, and report any issues to the Director.
- Provide daily assignment of technologists to expedite workflow, create monthly call schedule, and report job‑site injuries on the day they occur.
- Work with the department’s Director to formulate protocols and charges for new procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in X‑ray, Cath Lab, or radiology special procedures training.
- Two‑year certification program in Radiology Tech preferred.
- Associate’s degree preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider, American Heart Association, required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), American Heart Association, required.
- Radiography Certification, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, required.
- Radiology Technician certification, Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners, required.
- Work Shift: Days (United States of America).
