Lead Radiologic Technologist – LCMC Health

What You’ll Do

• Perform high‑quality radiologic exams following established protocols and radiology practice standards.
• Operate all X‑ray equipment and ensure every exam is crisp, accurate, and timely.
• Collaborate with radiologists; review images and highlight key anatomical details or abnormalities.
• Navigate PACS/RIS with confidence and efficiency.
• Apply radiation safety practices to protect patients, colleagues, and yourself.
• Assist physicians with contrast media delivery safely and accurately.
• Recognize urgent or life‑threatening situations and act swiftly as part of the care team.
• Transport and transfer patients with care, confidence, and respect.
• Support students and new team members by sharing expertise and shaping the next generation.
• Maintain precise documentation of procedures, supplies, and patient information; ensure all images are properly labeled and documented.
• Charge appropriately and on time; details matter.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment daily; report issues promptly.

Lead Duties

Assign daily tasks to technologists to keep workflow smooth and efficient. Support onboarding for new employees. Ensure all on‑the‑job injuries are documented same‑day.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of X‑ray experience.

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Life Support, HeartSaver & First Aid through the American Heart Association.
• Licensed Radiology Technician through the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners.
• Radiography Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of general and anatomy and physiology.
• Understanding of radiation properties of X‑ray and fluoroscopy equipment.
• General medical terminology knowledge and ability to administer Basic Life Support.
• Knowledge of state laws regarding licensure.
• Ability to properly place monitoring devices, position patients on table, and use manual dexterity to position camera head.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.

Functional Demands

Medium physical requirements. Exerting 20–50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10–25 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequent use of keyboard, repetitive motions, and continuous talking or hearing.
