Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an Interventional Radiology Scheduler to coordinate and schedule clinic appointments and procedures at Hillcrest and Jacobs Medical Centers. Proficiency with Epic Optime/Radiant is required and you will act as a liaison between internal and external teams.

The role handles multi-line calls, patient registration, insurance verification, and referrals, with a focus on accurate scheduling and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of related call center and front desk experience in a large complex healthcare setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in a call center and/or customer service environment.
• Epic Cadence scheduling experience or similar function.
• Knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state and private health plans.
• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
• Proven ability to handle multi-line incoming customer calls, schedule appointments, and perform online registration.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule interventional radiology clinic appointments and procedures for multiple physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Manage scheduling within Epic systems (Optime and Radiant) and ensure accurate coordination of care.
• Serve as liaison between internal and external clinical teams to support timely patient care.
• Answer and manage multiple telephone lines; provide exceptional customer service.
• Complete patient registration and bulk registrations as needed; verify insurance and obtain authorization.
• Maintain referral databases and scheduling metrics; provide front desk support for referrals and registrations as needed.
