Job summary

StevenDouglas is actively seeking a CPA-qualified Director of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting to establish and lead the technical accounting function in a high-growth environment. This hands-on role reports to the Controller and partners with executive leadership to support growth and public-company readiness.

The successful candidate will build scalable accounting policies, processes, and controls, manage external auditors, and drive IPO readiness and future SEC reporting initiatives

Qualifications

• Proven experience with U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research.
• Strong track record in financial reporting and memo preparation.
• Experience partnering with executives and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting research, analysis, and documentation for complex transactions under U.S. GAAP.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting memoranda.
• Oversee financial reporting, including financial statement preparation and disclosures.
• Provide guidance on revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, equity financing, software capitalization, leases, and business combinations.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, and leadership on significant transactions and initiatives.
• Coordinate with external auditors and third-party accounting advisors.
• Support audits, strengthen internal controls, and scale accounting processes.
• Drive IPO readiness and future SEC reporting and disclosure initiatives.
• Support leadership with strategic financial reporting matters and special projects.
