Job summary

DLA Piper in Chicago seeks an Intellectual Property and Technology Pursuits & Directories Manager to support strategic initiatives by developing compliant, on-time RFP responses and pitches. This role directly supports IP and Technology attorneys, with pursuits tied to patent litigation.

You will lead the response lifecycle, perform market and competitive research, and craft differentiators, partnering with attorneys and staff in a hybrid, multi-office environment including Chicago.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with ability to translate data into client-centric messaging.
• Familiarity with litigation analytics and docket research tools (Docket Navigator, Lex Machina).
• Familiarity with intellectual property law, particularly patent and trademark litigation.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manages pitch and proposal response lifecycle from start to finish.
• Provides strategic guidance for RFPs, proposals and pitches across teams.
• Conducts audience, client needs and perception analyses to inform responses.
• Gathers market, company, industry and competitive research to support strategy.
• Identifies differentiators, win themes and client-centric benefits.
• Creates new content and ensures on-time delivery of responses.
• Maintains stock languages for firm, practice groups and sectors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
