Job summary

Meta seeks an attorney with deep experience in online intellectual property issues to serve as Associate General Counsel, IP Product. You will tackle global IP issues across Meta’s apps and services, including AI and the Metaverse, and work with product, engineering, policy, and business teams.

You will counsel on IP risks, licensing, and liability, while helping expand AI products and Reality Labs, and collaborate with outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and bar admission in good standing.
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Expertise in IP including copyright, trademark, licensing.
• Intermediary liability issues incl. DMCA, CDA, EU Copyright Directive, DSA.
• Experience with AI regulatory developments.
• Counseling on IP issues related to new technologies.
• Ability to assess legal, practical, and business risks and provide actionable guidance.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with legal and business partners.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate products and features to provide practical IP risk guidance.
• Advise on direct and secondary liability from copyright, trademark, and content laws.
• Support AI product and Metaverse expansion; lead on IP issues across Reality Labs and Meta apps.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, policy, operations, and outside counsel.
• Work with a global network of outside counsel on IP matters.
