Job summary

CoxHealth South Hospital in Springfield, MO is seeking a Physical Therapist for Acute Therapy South. The role focuses on assessment and treatment with an orthopedic or neurologic emphasis, developing goals, and implementing a comprehensive Plan of Care in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of related experience, is licensed in Missouri, and will obtain BLS within 90 days. Mentorship and professional growth are emphasized in this team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
• Missouri license and BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat a variety of diagnoses with orthopedic or neurologic emphasis.
• Develop objective and functional goals and a Plan of Care.
• Provide mobility devices, counseling and orientation to improve mobility and reduce pain.
• Plan and implement prevention, habilitation or rehabilitation services across units as needed.

As a part of their assessment, the therapist will develop objective and functional goals, a detailed Plan of Care, and a list of appropriate treatments and will work with all appropriate resources to carry out the Plan of Care and treatment. The Therapists is responsible to plan and implement prevention, habilitation, or rehabilitation services including, but not limited to, mobility devices, counseling and orientation that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. Education Required: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program Preferred: Masters or Doctorate from an accredited program of Physical Therapy Experience Required: At least 5 years' of related experience Skills Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills and organizational skills required. Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops, and applications of new principles and/or techniques.
