Job summary

CoxHealth Acute Therapy South is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to implement the plan of care directed by an Occupational Therapist. You will work with patients to improve movement, strength, and independence in daily tasks through therapeutic activities.

The role emphasizes teamwork, front-line clinical skills, and opportunities for growth in an acute care setting, with a sign-on and relocation incentive to qualified candidates. On-site schedule is Day Shift, 36 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
• No prior experience required.
• Strong clinical and communication abilities; capable of working with a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the plan of care as outlined by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Perform patient-related activities, including delegated procedures.
• Assist with therapeutic exercise, ADL training, and education to patients.

The primary functions are to perform patient related activities, including delegated procedures that are commensurate with his/her educational skill and training. These activities may include therapeutic exercise and activities, ADL training, fine motor skills and coordination, physical agents / modalities, and patient education.
