Job summary

Reed Smith LLP seeks an Intellectual Property Paralegal to support IP attorneys in patent, trademark, and copyright matters. You will manage docketing, research tools, and international filings while maintaining confidentiality and providing high-quality client service.

The role involves after-hours filings and coordination with global teams. Undergraduate IP-related education and several years of IP experience are required or highly preferred.

Qualifications

• IP background with training or paralegal certification preferred.
• Seven to ten years IP practice experience required.
• Knowledge of USPTO Patent Center and patent filing process.
• Familiarity with trademark searches and IP diligence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and support prosecution of trademark and patent portfolios.
• Maintain docketing records and monitor deadlines across IP team.
• Assist with responses to USPTO actions and TTAB proceedings.
• Coordinate with foreign associates and clients on international matters.
• Use IP docketing systems such as PATTSY; familiarity with PracticeLink a plus.
