Why Join Vibrant?
You’ll have the opportunity to shape and strengthen our IT and cybersecurity programs, work closely with engaged leadership, and directly impact how our team uses technology every day. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety — from advising on strategic IT direction to rolling up their sleeves and fixing a printer.

Position Summary
Vibrant is seeking anIT Operations & Cybersecurity Administratorto serve as our primary internal IT resource, overseeing Managed Service Providers (MSPs) while providing hands‑on technical support to staff. This hybrid role blends strategic oversight of our dual-tenant cybersecurity program with practical, day‑to‑day IT problem‑solving. You will guide the evolution of our IT and security infrastructure, maintain compliance with documentation requirements, conduct risk assessments, and ensure our employees are trained in both effective technology use and cybersecurity awareness.

Vibrant is a growing company who previously has outsourced most IT responsibilities. In the near term, the position described below is likely not a full‑time position. Other opportunities are available including database design and administration (for our testing results data), other software (accounting, maintenance, DevOps, quality) support, software development and testing (C++), or even becoming a part‑time NDT technician. Let us know what other hats you might like to wear!

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight & Service Provider Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between Vibrant and external MSPs, ensuring service levels, project timelines, and security objectives are met.
  • Review MSP recommendations, set priorities, and approve projects or remediation efforts.
  • Contribute technical and strategic input for new IT and cybersecurity programs.
  • Perform and document risk assessments for proposed systems, applications, or process changes.
  • Develop, maintain and regularly update cybersecurity program documentation, policies, and compliance reports.

Hands‑On Technical Support

  • Troubleshoot and resolve office computer, network, and peripheral issues.
  • Procure, configure and maintain workstations, user accounts, and permissions.
  • Support employee onboarding/offboarding and efficiency with IT system access and training.
  • Perform routine security checks, updates, and patch management.
  • Provide guidance for Vibrant field‑deployed testing systems’ hardware, software, network configurations and remote management.
  • Develop and maintain hardware documentation for all IT systems.

Cybersecurity Program Management

  • Coordinate vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and incident response with MSPs.
  • Ensure endpoint protection, access control, and backup systems are functional.
  • Support compliance with relevant cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0).

Employee Training & Awareness

  • Develop and deliver internal training sessions for employees on:
    • Technology tools– including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and related systems.
    • Cybersecurity best practices– including DoD SAFE file transfers, phishing prevention, and recognizing internal threats.
  • Create and distribute easy‑to‑understand training materials and quick‑reference guides.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness and effective technology use.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support for other business‑specific software platforms, including Fiix, Sage, Azure DevOps, Qt9
  • Database design and administration (Microsoft Fabric, or other)
  • PCRT Software development and/or testing (C++, GoogleTest)
  • Non-Destructive Testing – PCRT data collection & analysis
Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in IT systems administration, IT support, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing MSPs or external IT vendors.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and risk management processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills across hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities, including training delivery. Must be able to communicate with non‑IT colleagues regarding IT risks and mitigations.

Preferred

  • IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM.
  • Experience with cybersecurity compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC).
  • Prior experience in a small‑to‑mid-size organization or government contracting environment.
