Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Legal Engineer – Intellectual Property to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This attorney-facing role sits within the Practice Intelligence department and acts as the bridge between IP practice and the firm’s AI labs, identifying automation opportunities and translating needs into technical requirements.

You will collaborate with IP attorneys, patent agents, and prosecution support staff, develop and validate tools, deliver training, and support

• Translate legal needs into clear technology requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and consultative skills with attorneys.
• Experience with legal research platforms and generative AI tools.

Responsabilités

• Embed with IP practice group across offices and build relationships with attorneys and staff.
• Identify tasks suitable for automation and improved tooling within workflows.
• Translate attorney needs into first-draft functional requirements for AI Labs.
• Participate in solution design reviews and user acceptance testing.
• Deliver training on practice-specific applications and platforms.
• Support client-facing conversations and demonstrations of firm tools.
