Job summary

Bonnie Jones Associates, LLC in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced IP Docketing Manager to lead and enhance its IP docketing operations. This hybrid role involves supervising a docketing team, improving processes, and ensuring accuracy and client service.

The ideal candidate will have strong patent and trademark docketing experience, leadership capabilities, and a track record of driving efficiency in a fast-paced law firm environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive Intellectual Property docketing or IP operations experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Law firm experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of patent and trademark prosecution processes.
• Experience supervising and developing docketing staff.
• Familiarity with IP management/docketing systems such as Anaqua, PATTSY or similar.
• Experience with document management systems such as iManage preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attorneys and leadership.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily IP docketing team operations, including workload management and quality control.
• Mentor and develop docketing professionals through training and feedback.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and integration of new team members.
• Develop and audit docketing processes for accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze docketing metrics and drive process improvements.
• Maintain and update procedures, workflows, templates, and best practices.
• Serve as SME on IP docketing processes and prosecution procedures.
• Support IP portfolio transitions and data transfers in management systems.
• Provide guidance and training on docketing systems and best practices.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to improve workflows and service delivery.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive firm and client information.
