Job summary

Barnes & Thornburg LLP is seeking an IP Docket Specialist with a strong background in docketing foreign and domestic trademark matters and TTAB proceedings. Under supervision, you will manage deadlines, maintain the CPi database, and prepare reports for attorneys and staff.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of IP docketing experience, is proficient with CPI/CPi software, and possesses excellent attention to detail and communication skills to handle USPTO and foreign office

Qualifications

• Minimum five years IP docketing experience.
• Advanced understanding of patent and trademark prosecution.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with CPI, Word, Excel, iManage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor docketing inbox and USPTO/foreign notices.
• Maintain CPi database for patent and trademark files.
• Download daily mail from PAIR.
• Compile reports for attorneys and assistants.
• Follow up on loss of rights dates.
• Clear docketed dates promptly.
• Add new matters to the docket system.
• Review and docket newly filed applications.
• Maintain data integrity of the CPi database.
• Assist with training IP Docket Clerks.
