Job summary

Barnes & Thornburg seeks an IP Docket Specialist in Raleigh, NC to manage docketing for domestic and foreign IP matters. The role involves maintaining CPi and CPI data, reviewing USPTO correspondence, and producing reports for attorneys.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ IP Docketing experience.
• Advanced understanding of patent and trademark prosecution process and deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team within a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, iManage and CPI; PracticeLink is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor docket inbox and prosecution notices from USPTO and foreign agents.
• Maintain CPi database with client and inventor data and filings.
• Download daily PAIR mail and compile attorney reports.
• Follow up on rights dates and clear docketed tasks on time.
• Add new matters to docket system and docket newly filed applications.
• Ensure data integrity and assist training for IP Docket Clerks.
