Job summary

Silicon Labs in Austin, Texas seeks an RF Validation Engineer I to contribute to RF/PHY-MAC validation across Zigbee, BLE, Wi-SUN and other wireless IPs. You will engage in pre-silicon testing, lab measurements, and IP bring-up, collaborating with design, firmware, and QA teams to deliver high-performance, low-power wireless SoCs.

The role emphasizes hands-on RF measurements, data analysis, and proactive problem solving to ensure product performance and timely silicon bring-up.

Qualifications

• BSEE/MSEE with 1 year of mixed-signal SoC exposure and RF signal chain experience.
• Experience with Python or similar modeling tools for comms systems.
• Strong grasp of analog fundamentals and RF subsystems.
• Familiarity with Bluetooth LE, 802.15.4, 802.11 standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Zigbee, BLE, Wi-SUN, ZWave PHY configurations for RF SoCs.
• Perform pre-silicon testing using test benches and FPGA emulation.
• Bring-up and validate new IP on silicon; support cross-functional teams.
• Perform lab measurements: RX sensitivity, TX power, frequency tolerance, etc.
• Provide RF insights to SW, FW, and QA teams for scalable testing.
